About Sara

Born in Iran to a petroleum engineer father and an elementary school teacher mother, I experienced the challenges of adversity early in life. The Iranian Revolution and the subsequent Iran-Iraq war brought profound hardships to our family, limiting personal freedoms and creating a climate of uncertainty. Yet, in the face of these challenges, my parents were steadfast in their determination to provide a better future for their kids. That determination ultimately brought us to Canada.

Immigrating to Canada as a child and witnessing my parents' hard work as immigrants profoundly shaped my character. Their resilience and unwavering commitment to creating a new life instilled in me the values of perseverance, self-improvement, and contributing to society, even in the toughest circumstances.

Over the past 35 years, I’ve been privileged to call Canada home—a place where I’ve not only grown personally but also built a dynamic career as a trailblazing leader in the nuclear industry. From operating nuclear power plants as a licensed shift manager to leading the development and implementation of Canada’s national strategy for radioactive waste management, I’ve honed my ability to lead diverse teams, tackle complex challenges, and make decisions that prioritize safety, sustainability, and societal impact. My work has included collaborating with Indigenous communities, promoting sustainable solutions for nuclear waste, and advancing energy innovation through initiatives like small modular reactors (SMRs).

My passion for personal development has been inspired by the wisdom of leadership giants like John Maxwell, Simon Sinek, Jim Collins, and Stephen Covey. Their teachings have guided my journey and deepened my commitment to empowering others to lead with purpose. Today, I’m completing my certification as a speaker with the John Maxwell Leadership Team, building on my experience as a keynote speaker, panelist, and moderator at various conferences.

Beyond my professional achievements, I am married to my high school sweetheart, a mother of two, and an avid traveler, having explored more than 30 countries and 150 cities. These experiences have shaped my worldview and fueled my commitment to resilience, innovation, and creating lasting impact across industries and communities.

My calling is to share my story and inspire others to embrace growth, lead with resilience, and achieve more than they thought possible. By fostering personal transformation and leveraging the lessons from my leadership journey, I aim to help others unlock their potential and make a lasting impact on the world.
